I’ve been playing a lot of Half-Life 2 lately, and—gaming hot take™—I was more sad when I had to leave the little buggy behind, than when I had to burn the companion cube in Portal.
With the cube, you spent like one relatively short level with it; but you go on a whole adventure with the buggy. You fight, you laugh, you cry together— it’s a whole thing. And then it just gets locked away in a garage, and I’m pretty sure you don’t see it again.
(I’m in Nova Prospekt right now, don’t spoil stuff!!!!!!!)
