Things like that are still imperfect solution, and put too much onus on disabled people. Why is it that someone for whom Yinglet speech is an issue, is expected to use an external tool, but it’s unreasonable to expect Yinglets to use a site internal mechanism?
Most of my posts on this subject, are also less concerned with Yinglets specifically, but more with all the ableism it has brought about. Most, if not all, the people I’ve seen requesting for typing quirks to be given content tags, and many have also—rightfully—pointed out, that the burden of accessibility, does not lie on disabled people. I’ve seen many posts dismissing these concerns as being drama, being ridiculous etc. Some even mock people, joking about how since the Yinglet writing quirk is an issue for people, they’re gonna make up an even more obnoxious writing quirk. It’s shitty seeing people react this way, because there’s nothing wrong with disabled people complaining about things that bother or make life harder for them. Even if they get angry or frustrated.
