one of my friends got the PC version at the scholastic book fair (where they also acquired such educational fare as bumper wars1) and i remember spending a long after-school afternoon blasting through all the levels

had no idea it was on PS1 too! with this and learning the other day that there was a GBA version of creatures i’m reeling a bit lol

what next? is there secretly an xbox port of speedy eggbert?

i played the shit out of Gubble on PC

it was the best part about visiting my dad's house. shit was basically Sonic the Hedgehog next to the alternative options (Blue's Clues: Blue's Birthday Adventure, NASCAR Heat, or Deer Hunter 4: World-Class Record Bucks)

i mainly know of gubble from this totally kickin' track on its soundtrack:

which was used many years later for MAP07 "Magnus" of the excellent 2013 Doom WAD Stardate 20X6:

this video is a tool-assisted speedrun of that map, which makes it even more incomprehensible (but maybe also extra impressively strange) to people who haven't seen what modern Doom level designers are up to. i just love the additional evil weird vibe that this track lends to the level's sinister glowing purple monstrosity. it was a great pick.
