huge appreciation to Boston Pride for the People for putting all the community groups up front and making all the corporations march at the end of the parade (or, technically they didn't allow corporations but they allowed "employee resource groups"... which were allowed to get funding and display logos from their corporation so whatever)
it made for a scrappier-looking parade because groups like the Multicultural AIDS Coalition and LGBTQ+ Elders Of Color don't have the resources for big shiny rainbow dance party floats, but it also meant they didn't get stuffed in the gaps between shiny rainbows. and because the ERGs aren't allowed to say anything "controversial" but the community orgs are explicitly and proudly political, it made for a parade that looked a little bit more like a protest.
also it meant that when it started to rain, it was all just banks and insurance companies left, so no big loss to go home then
