Hi y'all! Got some menu-related stuff done this week that looks a little simple but I think is so cool!
Read more after the break!
For starters, there's this cool file select menu. I made sure to add in all sorts of parts to make it readable and easy to use for a variety of purposes. I wanna pretty it up at some point but it helps a lot to have it functional! It means I don't have to dig into my appdata folder every 20 minutes.

This item menu I like a lot! It's very reminiscent of old Zelda handheld games, and it was super fun to get working. I like this system of planning around your inventory's layout and organizing it however you like. It feels super nice to be able to explore what i loved about those old games and implement those ideas into my own game.

Also a settings menu! I used some code from an earlier project so this wasn't too much of a hassle to figure out. I wanted to make sure that the menu worked in a way that's easily expandable - the settings scroll offscreen and come into focus as you move the cursor further down, so there's no limit to how many options you can put there. The same goes for menu blocks - you can add in more and more as you need. Future-proofing is super valuable! It makes me excited about what I could add to my project.
That's all for today! Thanks for tuning in!
