When you add your bit to a shared post, it feels like you are adding to the conversation or like it's a public reply.

Quote tweeting has almost never been used for adding to the conversation and, in my experience, almost entirely used for either bumping stuff, dunking on shit I had zero interest in interacting with, or trying to take control of a narrative.

I've been noticing that too, and have been wondering if it partly it's due to cohost shares adding below the original post rather than above? So what someone scrolling sees first is what the OP had to say, rather than the person sharing being first as in a quote tweet.
