You know what, it's frankly bonkers just how much music and other audio Youtube must be comparing your video audio against. Considering that random copyrighted music could start and end at any point in your video, must contest against other audio (ie. talking over it), and yet somehow it's more likely than not able to find anything from 80s rock to an obscure anime soundtrack!

Think of the application such algorithms could be good for, but nooooo.



I really wish there was a big button that said FAIR USE that I could hit on Youtube uploads when they get dinged for copyright, forcing a real goddamn human to look at it and decide if it counts or not. It should only be allowed on Youtubers with tiny followings or not monetising their videos (ie. me).

I don't really want to "dispute" it because no, I don't strictly own "the rights" to the music in question. I just think it's not hurting anyone that I have this music in my silly video stream with my friend.

Anyway whatever. I'm just going to have to rerender the video with different music and hope something else doesn't get dinged instead.
