geez I need to figure out how to shoot photos with this IRChrome stuff
So basically you need a full-spectrum converted camera, which just means that someone has gone in and removed the IR-blocking filter from in front of the sensor. There are companies that will do this for you (I've used Lifepixel and Kolari Vision in the past), or if you're technical and don't mind the risk, you can do it yourself.
Then you need a filter that emulates aerochrome. This is Kolari's IR Chrome filter, and basically what it tries to do is pass visible light and selectively also pass some infrared into the red channel. You don't have to use Kolari's filter; there are competitors now that can be found on ebay. Folks have also reverse engineered the particular combination of glass filter types that Kolari is using to make theirs, so if you were extra nerdy you could probably put your own filter stack together, although I don't know if it would end up being more affordable to source.
(Or, you could try to find some real aerochrome film (Kodak EIR), but that stuff is basically unobtanium now.)
