Well past the Group stages- but unless England fancy 4 penalty shootouts (please no) in a row, can we score more please?
Still 'Its Coming Home' continues on.
Saved by the Bell...inghan.
Never in doubt. Totally wasn't nervous throughout the entire match.
The road to 'Its Coming Home' marches on.
England just beat our greatest adversary- The Penalty Shootout!
The Road to Its Coming Home is still on!
Wasn't planning to add to this, but Southgate resigning made me change my mind.
Going from England's lowest ebb in the late 00s to mid 10s- not qualifying for Euro 2008, two dismal World Cup performances in 2010 and 2014 and then getting beaten by Iceland in Euro 2016 in a major upset. Not to mention just the general disconnect and lack of belief in the England team.
To a surprise Semi-Finals in World Cup 2018, back to back Euro Finals, not one but two Penalty Shootout victories and getting fans to be optimistic, hopeful and most of all believe in the team again is quite the stark contrast- Southgate deserves a lot of credit for that.
I do agree with the decision to resign- England tactically were too negative and rigid at times, so new ideas are needed- plus Southgate perhaps took England as far as he could. Given England's Golden Generation with the likes of Bellingham, Mainoo, Palmer, Saka, Rice and Guéhi to name some- we could be competitive for title wins for many years to come. Hopefully England pick a manager that achieves that.
Thanks for everything Gareth and good luck.
