First of all, that's a good show
Secondly, it got me thinking about question people ask of "Why do people distrust the X-Men but trust Captain America or The Hulk. They all have powers shouldn't they be afraid of all of them?"
And I think it's because people look at non-mutant superheroes as something that can be attained and mutants were born as such. Captain America wasn't born with his super strength and durability, he got it from a formula. Someone changed him into that and if he can do it so I can.
Wolverine was born with regenerative tissue and bone claws, though he is still human, that is unattainable.
It's just basic racism. You hate what you can't understand, what you feel like is an existential threat to your well-being when it's just people trying to live their lives.
