as far as i can tell it's straight women that fetishize gay men. i think the general attitude is anyone that self-identifies as one is to be avoided
Fujoshi is, obviously, a Japanese-originating term for women who are into yaoi, especially as a fetish (but not necessarily). "The fujoshi", like "the tsundere" or "the chuunibyou", is a Trope, and most people don't tend to reduce themselves to a Trope in real life, except for fun or fetish.
The MAIN reason to be wary of it is because, like men fetishizing lesbians, it's very possible to be a fujoshi WITHOUT being pro-LGBT. Biphobia is the most common, but transphobia and misandry are also rampant. Not EVERYONE who uses the term are bad people, (it's not like TERFs or GC where such a label is an official declaration of Suck), but that's the gist.
