Does anyone actually like for real turn into the parking lane when making turns. That was a thing I had to do in driving school and my driver's test but I've not literally ever seen another normal driver on the road do this.

okay so in driving school (Alberta) we were taught to always make our turns as close as possible. In the case of a right turn, this would mean merging into the right side of the street meant for parking (if there was room,) taking that turn, and then merging back out of that subsequent lane.
Now if you've ever been in like. Any even somewhat populated town or city this is an absolutely insane maneuver to do, but this is what we were taught, and I was docked marks for not doing it. I felt like I was being Punk'd by the government.
yeah ive never heard of that ever. thats just asking to hit stuff on the curb.
