I don't traditionally post WIPs or sketches on cohost, for some reason the vibe of this site communicates to me it'd be preferable to stick to just finished pieces. Nonetheless, sometimes you can really feel how much you're cooking on a certain piece.

An aspect that has always spoken to me on a spiritual level about mecha is the ways in which certain designs become symbols unto themselves. The GM cannot exist without the Zaku, and neither can exist without being symbols of the respective political entities they represent. To live is to exist in opposition of the other, forevermore. In every universe and every timeline, a bulbous monoeye mecha with some kind of tubing will attempt to chop a rectangular visored mecha to pieces. Two souls, eternally intertwined, doomed to reincarnate and commit violence upon the other. A veritable Spirit Circle if you will.

Anyway, I hope you'll look forward to the Lancer illustrations I'm working on.

thanks. I also love seeing art in different stages of finish, so I'm glad to hear that. the finished version will almost certainly have a slightly different vibe by nature of the process, so I like to appreciate the different versions of the piece as they come into being.

Gosh I love your art of the pair.
On one end I love that the Everest is that mech that can look like anything which is why it has no art but on the other hand I do like that some people ARE coming up with art that IS meant to represent an Evetest and the G-type is a design i'm increasingly tempted to make fanart of.

Also the Kompra is a wonderful design of a villain mech.

thanks, that's real kind of ya. In some regards the relation the G-Type Everest has with the Kompra is why I'm so comfortable with my design's pseudo official place in Lancer. I love that there are so many interpretations of the Everest frame, and mine can exist in the specific time and place of the Solstice Rain supplement (along with its upcoming sequel). I think if I were ever asked to draw more art of the Everest for a different book or even a 3rd party release, I'd endeavor to try and come up with interesting ways to remix or redesign it.

If you ever get around to doing fanart, I'd love to see it!
