The two of them are actually from quite distant places. Harpies in my setting are pretty far reaching, with differing physical characteristics depending on their region of origin.
Nyrané is a Celestine Harpy (known locally as Odoriki), whereas Lami is a Mountain Harpy.

Odoriki are the "baseline" Harpy ancestry in my world, with plumage of various colors ranging from dull browns and greys to parrot level colorful. They also have the Enthralling voice that Harpy are often given in fantasy media. Their society is relatively nonexistent after a war in their homeland, resulting in small groups of them showing up in other settlements, Nyrané in particular raised in the Celestine Isles themselves, on a small island close to her kin's original homeland.

Mountain Harpy are typically larger on average, and strong enough to carry Oxen or other comically heavy creatures, with typically dark grey or black plumage with bright accents. They have an actually developed society.
I haven't actually thought about where Lami hails from, but probably a mountain chain colloquially referred to as the Gnawing Hills, given that it's the one mountainous area I've established for my dnd game.

TLDR: They're from very different homelands, with Nyrané growing up on a small island village in my setting's Japan equivalent and Lami born and raised in a mountainous region.
