Every time I rebuild the C Standard LaTeX-constructed PDF and Preview reloads it. Firefox, unfortunately, doesn't have hot file reloading but it doesn't crash so I'm back to using Firefox as my default PDF app.

Also why is changing default apps in MacOS a PITA? Like you mark the check for "always open with this application" but it only applies it to that file, SPECIFICALLY, and it's like dude wtf who thought this was a good user experience. That's not what that checkmark means bro. Come the fuck on, pull your head out of your ass.

(unsure if you're already aware of this or not) There is a built-in way, but it's very non-obvious. After you change the default for one particular file, you can open the "Get Info" window for that file, then under the "Open with" section, use the "Change All ..." button. That will apply the changed default application from that one file to the entire file type.

Or use a file for which you don't have write permission. When you try to change the default application for that, it will tell you that you can't change it for that particular file, and will offer to change the default for the entire file type right away.

But yeah, idk why they emphasize the per-file default so much... It's nice to have the ability to do this, but in my experience, I almost always want to change the default for all files.
