really, overusing magic turning people into dragons sounds like more reason to use it for...some people. I know at least one who'd do that without a second thought.
Oh yeah like, aside from the- uh- stature changes and... enhanced.. dietary needs, it's really very much a boon in the eyes of a lotta folks- some mages in my setting consider it an end goal, a proof of their dedication to the craft, and even people who have gone through it by chance often find their new self an improvement over the old in a lot of ways- the "curse of scales" is... a curse in name only, depending on how you view it, ehehe
