A game is indie if Tim W wrote about it at www.indiegames.com/blog between December of 2007 and April of 2011

After this cutoff date the URL was changed to redirect to /index.php instead of of /blog, and the site was redesigned to prominently feature the UBM logo

This fact leads to some surprising revelations:

While some of you will no doubt be alarmed by these facts, I'm sure we can all agree that the matter has been conclusively settled

in reply to @Thew's post:

I just spent an entire hour finding archive.org links to different 2000s indie games in order to figure out which ones fail the criteria and are therefore Funny

HONORABLE MENTION JOKE: "@Konjak 's Iconoclasts isn't indie, but Ivory Springs is." Couldn't quite make this one work because finding blog posts is REALLY HARD. I did find a tim w post linking to konjak's website, around the right date, but it didn't explicitly mention Ivory Springs by name. Most of konjak's other games were on the blog, but Ivory Springs is specifically funny because it was essentially the alpha version of Iconoclasts

also really wanted to get "Octodad is indie but Octodad: Dadliest Catch isn't" in there lol. It straddles the UBM cutoff date. Couldn't find the original octodad post though, and I've already spent way too long on this
