so sounds like I might be better off just looking at all the fan art and fun Dialogue on Twitter
I mean, it's f2p, so no harm in trying it if you just want to check it out. I spent the last couple evenings on it and the art direction is rad and the combat is really fun. But it's 100% structured like Every Mobile Gacha Game. Combat is fighting three dudes in a flat arena and the other 95% of your time is spent navigating menus where you feed hundreds of Resources into Bars to obtain a 0.1% Cooldown Reduction or whatever
the whole structure is pretty much identical to azur lane or arknights or any other one of these things, i.e. a series of menu-based resource treadmills with a sort of videogame-shaped combat minigame occasionally sprinkled in
yeah genshin is like... they did actually make most of a videogame, as an onramp to the gacha retention loops. Seems like ZZZ doesn't attempt that though
honestly I haven't gotten terribly far in genshin impact but be an open world I can go wander around and admire the environment art
yeah I ended up trying arknights as I was intrigued by the character designs and the pacing was so slow
