really absurd oversight. hope they make a v2 eventually because the aesthetics are fuckin sick as hell

(I think technically that little eyelet you can see on the kickstand is supposed to be for locks, but it looks like you could snap it off with your bare hands lol)

also:

  • with scooters you often step off and walk them through busy areas like narrow sidewalks or crosswalks. Since this thing's designed for sitting, the handlebars are low and you'd have to hunch over really awkwardly if you want to push it anywhere
  • the folding process is apparently really complicated. It gets SUPER compact when it's folded up, which is part of why I wanted one (my apartment is tiny and scooters are fuckoff huge), but the tradeoff is complexity. You can't easily jump off of it and carry it up a flight of stairs onto a train platform or something; you gotta take 30 seconds to retract all the bits before you can use the carry handle

both of these are just Inconveniences, which I'd probably be willing to put up with for the sake of aesthetics. Not being able to lock it up is a complete deal ruiner though. Totally unusable for grocery trips; you'd have to physically carry it around the store with you (it weighs 30 pounds)

:(

in reply to @Thew's post:

I somehow never considered the fact that it doesn't have a spot to lock it, that kinda sucks. I guess the assumption is you take it everywhere, but like you said, not exactly practical.

I've heard of the Icoma Tatamel as a potential competitor to the Motocompacto, but I don't think it's out yet. It has suspension though, so that's nice.

ah yeah I've seen the tatamel; looks extremely cool but it's WAY bigger. Weighs over a hundred pounds afaik. I think it's aimed more at competing with like a vespa or a honda ruckus
