so, i've caught some kind of cold recently, and that's been pretty annoying. it started as just a sore throat which was pretty bad but my throat's not really sore anymore. the problem is now i'm sneezing and have a runny nose which is honestly more annoying because while a sore throat sucks at least it doesn't actively require constant attention, distracting you from what you're trying to be doing

anyway because of that and i guess me not really feeling like doing anything else I have just spent most of my time grinding the absolute shit out of TGM3 World stuff. in particular i was basically trying to get some decent runs actually recorded - none of my PBs have any video proof, I stopped recording my sessions cause it was annoying to have to start a recording every time I played the game, and I was not paticularly inclined to actually upload any of the footage anyway. but, I want to get some stuff recorded just in case I ever do decide to submit them to a leaderboard or whatever

most of my time was spent grinding Shirase, and I've gotten an S10 that topped out on level 1029 at 4:58:28 recorded; my PB tops out at 1046 at 5:29.35, so I seem to have gotten a substantially faster run, though it actually felt kind of slow when i was playing it and my stacking seemed pretty bad. i guess that's an indicator that i'm either improving at the game or i'm getting better at noticing mistakes

for today specifically I was spending time on Master mode, since I seem to have kind of found myself in a position where I was getting so used to pure speed focused stuff that I guess I've either forgotten how to play slowly, or how to stack for tetrises, or some combination of that. used to be able to get 999s with pretty good consistency but I kept dying in like the 400-700 range or something ridiculous, so i had to try and get that back up. i just played logged out on 90% of my attempts but i did do enough attempts on my profile that i ended up getting demoted back to m2 again lol

it seems like i'm getting some consistency back, starting to get some low m-grades again, but i've still got work to do there. i did manage to get an orange line m8 6:42.66 provisional run on video, though; that's more or less equivalent to my orange line m9 6:45.40 PB, i think the only difference is that I missed an early COOL!!. tgm3's grade system is... certainly designed; it sure is neat that the tgm game with the greatest focus on pure speed [checks notes] punishes you for playing too fast. i'm probably gonna have to start gaming the system if i want to push into the Master range consistently which sucks but i guess that's just how the game operates. gotta play by its rules

anyway yeah i dunno what i'll actually do with the footage, i'm frankly paranoid about uploading anything even as an unlisted video given the issues regarding tgm videos that have occured in the past, so it's prob just gonna sit on my hard drive for the time being but I guess I have those runs on record now if I ever need to show that. yeah
