TBH, I'm pretty sure I just went in unsynced and soloed this one - as an overlevelled RDM, I could get away with a lot of nonsense. You probably can get away with it too, especially if you're PLD or WAR.
(This was my strategy for bypassing DPS queues until I finally hit Duty Support in Shadowbringers)
Alas, Mathias Brechskul is not a big brain RDM. He protecc as GNB, play funny beat as BRD, throw spinny axe as WAR and weep as DRK. Head mostly empty, and verily vibes. He's certainly an embodiment of nonsense, but not the solo queue sort for the time being. Until I get his WAR levelled up for the Endwalker transition. I love Red Mage in FF generally but it doesn't fit his character, if that follows? Only picked up Bard to play the silly doots
Does unsyncing and soloing dungeons/trials still work for MSQ progression? I've not actually tried them outside of Duty Finder, didn't know I could just... do them on my own V:

Re: MSQ progression, yup! As long as you finish the thing, it counts, no matter how you finish it. (I've also had my partner come in with me on a level 90 job and wreck everything while I twiddled my thumbs.)

Are you on Dynamis? It’s the newest server with the fewest worlds, so the queues can be rough. Might want to server hop to a ether or crystal for mandatory dungeons, the queues pop a lot more quickly
I'm UK-based and my ping wasn't great with the NA data centres so I'm over on Chaos, Ragnarok. Queue times aren't typically an issue at all since I main tank, I was just feeling a bit daft and played at silly hours when most folks were asleep this morning :D
