i've said this before but cohost has taught me more about css than the 5 years i was a web developer
the urge to shitpost is overpowering (and for the record yes, I'm fairly sure most of my own CSS knowledge comes from my CSS crimes here)

I resisted CSS when I was still doing web design, because to me it was an intrusion of the demands of marketing upon the online space... the whole thing of a consistent look and feel across browsers and tight control of what was meant to be a dynamic format was of course incredibly useful to me as a designer, but I understood what was driving it and I didn't like it. (I stopped being a designer professionally not long after that.)
