My absolute favorite thing in any media, the thing that make me say "okay those people really know what they're doing", is when they don't feel the need to explain something. When they let some things roll because they know the audience won't care.
Example: Better Call Saul. Yeah it's a prequel set in the early 2000, but all the actors looks visibly older. Because actors get old. It doesn't matter, they won't put a dumbass 3D filter on the face or some makeup, deal with it.
Other examples: My Friendly Neighborhood. When I started playing it really REALLY thought that at some point there would be explanation for why the puppets are alive. Spoiler alert: there's never any explanation. It's like how the Muppets are presented in the medias, they're puppet but they are also actors who have their own lives. Deal with it.
