I wrote a health bar script while playing the Dragon Quest 3 Three Type Teaparty challenge last week.
I learned about Lua scripting from you - I'm wondering if I picked up that fondness for gauges too.

realtalk any time i encounter a calculator, physical or otherwise, that doesn't let you use = to effectively repeat the previous operation, i get really disappointed
also it might be 1 + + (hold) enter, i forget, i don't exactly have 3.1 around to test on
Number Go Up Weeeee is possibly one of the single greatest sources of joy on calculators that let you repeat an operation can provide. i think more things should just have an abstract number that you can make go up fast, but not in a way that affects anything. simply because number go up good
on calculators where they show the memory value, you could call it the mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm+ button
Ironically the ones I actually like nowadays are the ones closer to being actual games with incremental elements, like Universal Paperclips, Crank, Candybox, etc as opposed to the ones that are closer to the feel you're describing in this post like Cookie Clicker, Clicker Heroes, Antimatter Dimensions, what have you. I don't know which ones you've actually played.
