Outside of Shinobi, I'm not sure about the other games. They turned SoR and Golden Axe into 3D beat em ups, which seems to imply they didn't have faith in the classic gameplay despite SoR4 doing really well. Crazy Taxi and JSR at least seem to not be changing too much, so I think those may be alright too, but time will tell I guess.

||Secretly hope CT gets an arcade version, cuz that game is a hell of a time on cabinet. ||

I was thinking about these revivals, and one big thing that crossed my mind is that they kidna only have one shot to get it right. Lots of flagship games have the room to have bad games.

  • Every other Sonic game is one of the bad ones
  • Street Fighter gets to have a few bad games
  • Activision will actively moe heaven and earth to support Call of Duty when it shits the bed

This these sega revival games won't have that grace. If these games are the bads ones, they may not get another chance, and maybe even other non-flagship sequels will be threatened by their failure as well. It's not the worst thing in the world since there's always fan games and indies making spiritual successors, but still feels a bit precarious for these franchises and i hope for the best.
