I recently saw a youtube video or something else that read 対戦会. i think it reads as "Taisenkai" i recognize taisen cuz alot of games use it for vs modes and i recently learned the last kanji from a book im reading currently. I'm not sure if my reading is right, but it was nice to be able to recognize kanji in the wild.

The kanji is describing a fighting game or meetup. I couldnt find the compound on jisho, but it showed up from a web search

well, it's on jisho in the sense that 会 (indeed read 'kai') is listed as a suffix for a meeting or party. it's quite common, from 議会 gikai 'parliament' / 'diet' to 忘年会 bounenkai 'end-of-year party' (literally 'forget-year-party')

it's not unusual for words to be constructed from a base term and a prefix or suffix, and it's worth trying to look up parts separately. jisho has convenient '#suf' and '#pref' filters for this fwiw
