I may have to give Alan Wake another chance.
Control the game got so good towards the end. My only complaint is it ends to soon after you get all your abilities. Though there is additional content right after the main ending so I am going to dive into that.
I found a disc vers of Alan Wake remastered which I ordered along with that new Final Fantasy game. Sorry Backlog.
Picture unrelated.

I haven't read any interviews with Sam Lake and his inspirations that led him to Control, but there's no way he wasn't aware of the SCP Wiki as the SCP Foundation is basically Control's Federal Bureau of Control. It handles odd, anomalous, alien happenings around the world and then covers them up.

As a fan of the SCP Wiki, I loved going through all the written documents and audio logs in Control. So, if you're curious, there's an SCP animator I follow that does weekly deep dives into various SCP entries who typically does great work (especially for someone that writes and animates this quickly).

Here's one of my favorites - The Liar's Cradle.

I don't remember the name, but one of my favorites was this ine where if they put this red disc in a mirror they could travel to a parallel world where shit went REALLY bad. Something about a god showing up, being able extract/inject faith into subjects and giant things walking around that absorbed anything living.
