frankly still thinking about this. would preening be more like publicly clipping your fingernails or scratching yourself or
maybe it's like combing your hair (possibly using your fingers as the comb)
ducks preen to insulate and waterproof themselves, so i think it's more like applying sunscreen.
I would think of it as on par with watching someone adjust/touch up their makeup or hair while on the subway.
Prolly stuff like fixing yur hair to rest nice, maybe adjusting your sleeves so they're not wrinkled or showing yur wrists in some weird way?
