Photo courtesy of the Twitter account of St George's Preston. The image you see here is a snapshot of the procession arriving in Preston's Flag Market, a square in front of the Harris Museum, which is currently undergoing renovations.
After the clerics and servers with lights and thurible, there are the people lifting this heavy cross — and I know it's heavy, because 1) I've attempted to lift it, and 2) I've seen people changing positions due to sore shoulders — and behind them is me, drumming, keeping the pace for the procession. My drum is not visible in this image.
Behind me is the mayor and his spouse, and behind them, not in the photo, are a sizeable crowd of people across denominations. In attendance in that crowd are my husband and a bunch of friends from my old parish.
I did my best.
