Sorry, I only just now caught your reply. The AI that scrapes every post on the platform detected your response as sarcasm which it thinks is rude so it did not show it to me.
maybe i'm glad i was so hesitant to use that site. god that's awful
Wait, does this mean that reported posts simply get tagged for the category they're in? Have they even claimed to have a review process for this?
Your posts automatically get sorted into categories it detects and users can report posts, yeah, but afaik it's doing it all using LLM detection. My NSFW art post was immediately tagged as adult content, and I could appeal the tag, since there's almost assuredly a chance of it pulling a false positive by doing shit automatically like that.
Absolutely incomprehensible design decisions being made. Can't wait for the news that the scam/impersonator tags and similar things are applied nonsensically.
Oh, they are. A popular artist on Twitter created an account there, reported an account impersonating him, and it labeled him as the impersonator instead.
allegedly there will be "labelling services" that (I suppose) would involved manual labelling but I refuse to believe a lot of people will bother outside of the extremely obvious/egregious stuff and it remains to be seen how practical it is for anyone but Bluesky-the-corporation to run one
Wait wait wait, is this telling me that they're not removing anything explicitly bigoted or threatening, just censoring it?
No, they remove it. But there's a lot of stuff that can fall under the rubric without actually being removal-worthy.
Is this under content filters in settings? Not that bsky doesn't suck for a lot of reasons, but I don't see any of these on my end lol. Weird that it isn't consistent?
it's not under them, but directly beneath them, there's a link under Advanced that says Bluesky Moderation Service and for some reason takes you to something that looks like a userpage
oh yeah that's like, how they do moderation now is you 'subscribe' to moderation lists like blocklists. I didn't realize you could click on that?? and that it's required?? show me the rumors, admins
separate settings for "sexually suggestive" and "sexually suggestive (cartoon)" is so fucking funny. who is this level of granularity for
"yeah if my boss sees me scrolling past a bikini photo I'll get fired but hentai is fine"
a bunch of techbros got really mad that furries were topping the algorithm for a while during bluesky's closed period
i've been enjoying my little corner of bsky but it truly is in spite of leadership lol. what is "rude"?? is it when i say fuck? could someone who doesn't want to see Rude Words not simply set up a keyword filter??? god. i don't know, at least it's funny
the fact that "Intolerance" and "Extremist" are separate labels on there gives me super bad vibes
