For all the many and wondrous beyond belief places she has been on her travels, there is still no place that holds the same place in Altani Khatayins heart as her homeland, the Azim Steppe. Once a year, when her people come down from their hunts in the mountains, she returns home to join them.

While Altani is not necessarily competitive per se, once she puts her mind to something she will put her all into it every time. This...doesn't always lead her to be a great loser.
She may seem cold on the outside, but deep down Altani is a creature of the summer. If you ever find her on the beach, you're guaranteed to find her in a good mood.
The fight against Shinryu, and her subsequent stay and many late night conversations in the infirmary, forced Altani to reckon with herself and serves as a personal inflection point in many ways.
Having always had a fondness for weaving and clothworking, in large part imparted on her from a dear friend on the Steppe, Altani finds great tranquility in joy in working with fabrics. As she made a second home under the boughs of the Black Shrouds, she also took to the art of botany.
Altani harbours a profound fondness for flowers, though she rarely shows it in her day-to-day.
Kugane, and the Bokairo Inn, are places filled with memories for Altani. After leaving the Steppe and finding her way to the Ruby Price, and from there sailed to Kugane where she stayed for a month trying to find a ship to Eorzea. While there, she made a powerful but fleeting friendship.
Much of Altani's free time is occupied by books and crafts, and the occasional going outside, she does not ever fully put the lance down and spends quite a bit of time practising her skills to make sure they're as sharp as her weapon.
Altani has honed her skills in every martial skill under the sun, but Dragoon remains her true love.
A proud child of the Steppe, to Altani there are few melodies more beautiful than those played on the morin khuur.
Treasure is kind of an unavoidable subject when you're in the adventuring business, but Altani never really started the endeavour to begin with to gain material riches. They're not useless, but not really an end goal she pursues. Her most valuable material treasure is probable her suit of dragoon armor and her spear, but that's not really a monetary value.
You never really forget your first few dungeon forays, and they become pretty strongly imbued with those memories.
