why the fuck does my bougie covid test dingus have a rechargeable battery? why does it have wireless charging capability?! what fucking hospital/pharmacy setting is asking for this purported flexibility
the stupid thing does not even have an off button so it just sits there looking for bluetooth devices to connect to until it dies. it may as well not have the fucking battery. it'll probably brick itself because of the battery someday
I haven't seen powered covid tests but the battery-powered pregnancy tests are pretty fucking stupid, like it's just a little Arduino-type thing with an optical sensor that's looking at the same stupid test result strip that you'd normally be looking at with your own human eyes. It runs Doom.
the stupidest thing is that the battery-powered covid test is actually just the heater and piezoelectric mixer parts, the rest is a one-time use cartridge
