This article isn't even positivity. People who legitimately believe that the "gender identity" community is glorifying mental illness cite articles like this as a source.

I have a sneaking suspicion that articles like these are not actually about accepting ADHD people- instead, these articles give people who are vehemently against doing so a valid reason for holding that opinion.

And while that may not be their original intent, as we all know from social media- any article that validates an opinion like that gets an absolute crap ton of clicks....

what do you think would make this any different than any other identity first term? disabled people is the preferred term by in-group and i don’t think it implies anything at all about folks having the same symptoms or not containing multitudes?
for identity-first stuff the idea that it’s not something you can be separated from is fairly important, do you find adhd is less … defining, for lack of a better word? that’s certainly my experience with it too to be clear! just want to understand where you’re coming from
