this whole novel seems silly but to be fair, that's burnt sienna, not plain (or "raw", if you're trying to specify in an art store) sienna. burnt sienna has that distinct reddish color due it partially converting to hematite when heated. raw sienna varies and is often a yellowish brown, though it can also be a medium beige.
i only know this due to a lot of art classes and mixing my own earthtones.
