... by random computer bullshit on a machine that didn't fucking change anything recently.
What do you mean, Steam, there's no internet connection?
I CAN BROWSE YOU.
YOU FOUND THESE UPDATES YOU WANT TO INSTALL YOURSELF.
BUT THEN WHEN YOU WANT TO DOWNLOAD YOU SAY NO?!
Tried switching download regions
Tried clearing out steam download cache
Tried flushing the machine's DNS cache
Tried reinstalling Steam, losing whatever was installed on that drive - oops
Nothing.
Fucking.
Works.
The logs are spectacularly useless as well
Skipping download source as it does not allow AppID 228980: (CDN,11) - steampipe-partner.akamaized.net (steampipe-partner.akamaized.net)
No target sources connected
So there's something with the machine/steam account that's causing this, because another machine with another account can download things fine... so the problem isn't that the akamaized url doesn't resolve correctly, because they have the same DNS resolve/tracert.
That machine, however, is not a fucking gaming machine.
Anyone have any ideas?
