So, I imagine many people already saw this since they became viral between these last few days, but in case you haven't, here are some amazing chilean beer commercials that were edited into the Star Wars movies:

Basically, years ago in 2003 I believe, when the original trilogy was broadcasted here in Chile in Canal 13, instead of cutting the movies in order to make space for ad breaks, they decided to edit ads for Cerveza Cristal (one of the country more popular beers -think the equivalent of something like Budweiser-, made by the country's biggest brewery) into the movie, and the end result was so good that not only did the ad agency ended up doing the same with the James Bond movies, as well as Gladiator and other films, but also winning a price for their work at the Cannes International Advertising Festival (basically the equivalent of an Oscar for publicity), but also, they ended up in legal problems with Lucasfilm, who made an official complaint against in Chile's Advertising Regulatory Council (the ad agency ended up winning, but they eventually stopped doing the ads, I imagine in order to avoid additional legal inconvenients).

Anyway, as it tend to happen with chilean things that ended up going viral around the world (like it happened with Christell's "Dubidubidu" earlier this year), I have no idea where it started, but it's always funny to see it gain traction like it happened now.

Also, I've seen many websites reporting that this was the first time the OT was broadcasted in Chile, but that's not accurate. Like, I saw the movies on TV for the first time when I was like 3-4 years in the early 90's, but it was a different channel. It was actually TVN, Chile's national TV, I recall that because one of my best friends actually had them in VHS recorded directly from the TV. The '03 broadcast was the first time they were broadcasted by Canal 13, who had actually gotten the rights later, of the Special Editions if I recall correctly, and was in anticipation for the premiere of Revenge of the Sith.
