Absolutely loved this dive and the spirit of curiosity and preservation behind it. @wadbot and various other projects I've done (including one I'm helping a friend with right now) have had some element of "archeology on a massive, interesting pile of old data that untold numbers of ordinary people poured their heart and soul into" and it's given me a certain sense of grounded reverence for what creative work is, and how art (and yeah, winamp skins are art! why the hell wouldn't they be?) absorbs so many little details of peoples' lives in the course of its creation, and that texture is worth holding on to and celebrating.
