my damn phone pops up a dialog every single time i plug it into my car stereo, prompting me to enable Google Assistant. every. single. time. and if i fat-finger it and accidentally press the dialog, it enables Google Assistant without asking. i have to carefully press anywhere outside the dialog to bypass it. i hate this.

Every time I go to photos on my phone, it barfs up a "hey, do you want to put your stuff on the cloud? Put stuff on our cloud! It's great!" popup, and every single time I say no.
But then it just asks again.

have you hesrd of grapheneOS? you can replace the firmware with it, it's like base pixel firmware with way more security / privacy options, and you can opt to not even install usually mandatory Google apps and services like assistant, so that even if an app wanted to enable assistant, it couldn't.

your phone is supported I'm pretty sure, definitely look into it, it seems like something you're likely to use IMO (I use it too on my pixel 6 regular)

it also adds a whooooole bunch of other security features that parents present on pixels by default including Mac address randomization per network connection, automatically encrypting your entire phone until you enter your passcode, per app filesystem sandboxing so that no app can read any other app's data without your permission, and a whole bunch more, and it operates / feels exactly like the stock firmware once you have it set up
