A quick (I hope) ASDposting rant:
I fucking hate the excuse for horror that people have plastered all over the internet. It isn't so much a "it isn't scary" thing as much as it is a "there is no filter" thing. Since horror content on youtube is pretty much a disaster trash fire, it's not like people are going to have much sympathy for my ambient post-content engagement. I want to preface this by saying that what is startling is not horror. If you've ever started a medication like Bupropion, you might be familiar with the 'flashes of faces' which can happen from the neurostimulatory medication's effects when it starts to concentrate in your blood supply.
That shit is actually kinda scary, because the faces can take shapes that are impossible to describe. Brain altering medication can be a bit frightening, and that shit's just lil tablets you put in your mouf!
I wanna talk about internet horror things that bother me. It's Spookmas Month, so I feel like I can post this and no one will really be all that upsetti. Read on to see what I mean~
Your fucking jumpscare isn't scary at all, it's just the cheapest trick you can pull on the human body, a badly wired watery meatbag running on a mountain of legacy tech debt responses.
The only "horror" there is the thought that maybe you think you did something cool and worthwhile.
Do better.
