look i try not to be too negative about this site but sweet hells, the lack of a real search is increasingly obnoxious the longer i am on it
it is impossible to maintain any kind of long term context without a search
i can't find posts i made a week ago even, they might as well be gone
there's no referring back to something that would require manually scrolling through twelve pages of posts
people used to worry about "oh no, no one is making shitposts on cohost" but increasingly i'm seeing fewer and fewer high-effort posts because why would you? it'll all be lost in a week and you'll never find it again unless you bookmark it by some external means
and I know there's problems with allowing Search Anywhere.
I'm not asking for that.
I'm asking for Local Search.
Search within the drivel I have put out onto this site myself.
The ravings that mostly go directly from some dark part of my brain to my fingers, without passing anything like a conscious thought.
"Oh, but you can just go back in the pages to the day you chosted it, or use the tags" you say.
My memory is absolutely shot (thanks, Broken Brain) so I can't even remember what happened a minute ago, let alone on what day exactly I might have chosted something I vaguely recall maybe thinking about a thing, or what wording I might have used. Not to mention tags, because hey, my tags are mostly jokes, making them unique and impossible to search for because see the earlier thing about wording.
It is so much fun being me.
Truly delightful.
Also: I chost a lot.
Like, a lot a lot.
One could even say an excessive amount.
But... nobody's organised an intervention yet, so here we both are.
So can I maybe have search for my external braindump repository?
