It's fun1 being An Old, because I get Other Olds and Even Olders complain to me about "the younger generations always with their nose in their phones" and how they're "ignoring us".
And then I get to just sit there and clamp my mouth tightly shut so "Okay, so what you're saying is you're not bringing anything to the table, and just expect people to pay worshipful attention to you just because you're older? Instead of spending time talking to people they do like or looking at things that do interest them?" doesn't leak out, because that's not what they want to hear.
They just want me to nod and commiserate.
