fun fact: i've designed other alien critters besides amphimorpho! ;3

i think the final design for these guys has yet to be seen - i definitely borrowed some design points from the xenomorph, because that right there is peak extraterrestrial design, let's be real - but, i really do want to push them in a more unique direction if i can. they also take inspiration from bobbitt worms and house centipedes!

i don't have a name for them, and just call them "bug aliens" for simplicity's sake. they're a space-faring species with technology far more advanced than that of modern humans, and they communicate to each other via pseudo-telepathy - it's actually a complex symbiotic relationship they have with several fungus-like species found on their home planet which allows them to communicate haptically or via specific wave frequencies. the fungal symbiosis also allows them to interface with their tech, which uses mycelium networks for computing.

the surface of their planet is hostile to life, but the vast subterranean cave systems offered a place for life to develop.
