i took an adderall for the first time in a week, post-con, thinking it would compel me to get some work done on my comic today, and instead chilled out so much that i fell back asleep for a few hours

it's cold and rainy anyways, may as well hibernate for a bit longer 🌧️

It's hilarious, but yes, I find it calms me down rather than hypes me up. My theory is that when under-stimulated, everything becomes a potential distraction. Constantly going through life with the equivalent of a three-ring circus constantly going on around you is exhausting.

I also recently realised it was the reason I was a chronic leg-bouncer (or table tapper) during school/universityβ€”it takes just enough focus that I can apply the remainder to the thing I should be concentrating on and ignore the rest. Still very useful for places like noisy restaurants (I tap the side of my leg under the table so I don't distract the other person πŸ˜…).
