Pokémon red/blue (or firered/leafgreen) hack where you go in bills machine and get tf'd into a pokemon, but team rocket kidnaps him before he can turn you back. So you have to go on an adventure to save him. (Turning back into a human is optional though lol)
Im not sure if it would be cooler if you recruited other pokémon into your party via set story points, or if it worked like mystery dungeon where you beat a wild pokémon and they say "wow your epic can we be friends"
yeah im thinking about this again, i knew i posted about it. But the scope of the ideas i am having today for this theoretical game seem to be outside the scope of what i personally could acheive in a romhack. Like i had the thought of doing a sort of undertale style battle system instead of/in addition to the default, which definitely will be hard enough by itself, let alone as a patch for a gameboy game lol.
hard mode is tf'ing into a magikarp, and you get experience by either fighting in the water or by finding a friend that makes you a Contraption (fishtank on wheels)
