Oh, honey it's worse than that. I've got TMNT opinions. Fears, even. So the long running series is closing out at 150 and then getting a relaunch at number 1. Apparently the story is continuing, but ya know, end of an era. (I really need to catch up)

And I saw this banner for the upcoming series and felt like any kind of interest bleed away. Look, I really like Jason Aaron, not all of his stuff hits for me but he wrote the best Thor run of all time and when he hits its amazing. And I also love these artists. The problem is looking at this and seeing such a back to basic approach. Like, oh hey, Donny still has his metal shell with the screws. But it's fucking weird seeing them not wearing clothes anymore?

So from issue 101 onwards, the focus of the series has been that a mutagen bomb went off in new york turning part of it quarantined zone full of mutants. The turtles go there to help try and keep things functioning and its great? Like, they are community building and not having to hide and just able to be people. And even when they aren't going out to metal concerts, they still aren't running around in the nude anymore because like they are people running around.

So like... I don't know. The art going for a very back to basic appeal coupled with like, a lack of Jennika make me so fucking worried. It was so nice to see that initial concept every TMNT series has of turtles in sewers hiding from society while protecting them just be broken away and they have to grow up and become something else.
