was talking with someone about how to set stakes for tension between player characters in TTRPGs earlier and remembered a tweet I made that was "Inter-player character conflict in D&D vs in Shadowrun" and these pics
(I cannot get my tweets to embed???)
like a lot of fantasy games go for conflicts of bloodlines, philosophies, faiths, that kind of stuff and most of the time it's ok, but the tensest bit of inter-player conflict I've seen happen was essentially "They've got the wrong guy, I need to confess so he doesn't go to prison" vs "shut the fuck up, you'll implicate all of us"
like sometimes it's cool to fight for ideals and what you think is right but it's a lot more raw to have things on the level of "if you ruin my life I'll fucking kill you" occasionally
