One of my pet peeves is people getting hung up on how a bad guy's plan is illogical and not thinking about their backstory or motivation for like, a second. Especially bad guys who use supposedly dispassionate logic as a pretext for their cruelty, because by trying to poke holes in their logic you're just getting suckered into acting as if they're an otherwise reasonable, respectable person going about their business the wrong way, instead of-- ok yeah I'm hearing it, I'm being mad at liberals again
