I'm making this post to serve as the hub for all information regarding my book, The Wolf and the Moon. What follows is a synopsis, table of contents, content warnings, and whatever other information I feel might be appropriate.

Synopsis

Despite her desire to be close to others, a young wolf struggles to understand the intricacies of interpersonal connections, feeling isolated from friends and family alike. In a moment of revelation, she feels she recognizes the same sense of loneliness in the moon itself. She vows to dedicate her life to finding a way to reach the moon, in the hopes that then she'll understand how to reach everyone else--but as she comes to realize that the others around her don't relate to her goals, she begins to wonder if she's only alienating herself even further.

General Info

I wrote this book, and I'm posting it for free online, under a CC BY license. I can't guarantee my future books will be free, but I want this one to be, because it's personal and important to me.

If you prefer, this same book can also be read on Scribblehub, and I will most likely be posting it in other places eventually as well. I am considering itch.io, FurAffinity, and Tumblr.

Table of Contents

I have made the whole book available to read on Cohost itself. Links to each chapter are as follows:

Content Warnings

This book deals with a variety of heavy topics. That said, my beta readers didn't have specific suggestions for content warnings, other than a note that the protagonist grows up in a very restrictive and conservative town. Personally, though, I would at least like to note that the story touches upon topics of loneliness, anxiety, bullying, racism, sexism, transphobia, religion, colonialism, family trauma, and police brutality, among other things. However, there is no "on-screen" gore or sexual content (aside from some cheeky references). If you have suggestions for other content warnings, please let me know.

This is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read, and is my new favorite. Thank you so much for creating this, it framed so many thoughts I’ve had about the world and about myself in such a way which was deeply cathartic to me. I’ll always treasure this piece ^w^ <3 -Amber
