This post is an excellent encapsulation of why I, an employed AAA games UI programmer, will do my best to avoid ever having to write a custom font renderer ever again. I've done my time and now I'm outsourcing the work to some other sucker. 😌

It came by my timeline again and it’s still great! Looking at the paragraph-breaking animation again I’m reminded that you might want to implement hanging or half-hanging right-margin punctuation for things like commas and hyphens, which cleans up the paragraphs edges a little.
