People always talk about how smart corvids are and how they recognize people but cannot explain scarecrows

Slow of thought and life. Autistic and disabled. Called 'Tan' since a portion of True Name.
Stubbornly trying to learn to draw.
Enjoys weird crossover fanfic with interesting worldbuilding\meshing, romance-comedy and slice of life mangas.
Laid fallow and rotting for over a decade, stirring slightly but still very disabled and my life is very small and improvised.
Emphasis on the person not the bad in 'bad person'.

as far as i know, they are smart enough to eventually figure out scarecrows -- i think the main thing is that they don't have to be absolutely convincing so much as look more risky than other nearby food sources. and only really when the crop is the most vulnerable
i mean sorry for ruining the joke but as someone who likes corvids and gardening i find this stuff interesting lol
To their credit, "I'm pretty sure that's not a real dude, but I'm not gonna risk it" is entirely understandable.
